Summer Mood Boards

Even though I have been struggling through my grieving process over the past 2 years(you can read about it here), every once in a while I would try and break through it by taking on a few design jobs.  I didn't fully jump into them like I would in the past because I just couldn't commit. I didn't want to make any promises that I couldn't keep because honestly, it was day to day for me and it still is. I have no idea what tomorrow brings, whether it is a day filled with tears or a day full of accomplishment.  I know my ultimate goal is to make the tear filled days fewer and farther between but I still want to give myself the opportunity to embrace the pain of my loss because that is being honest and true to myself.

I'm not making any promises that I will continue to blog here but if I'm up for it then I will.  From here on out I am spending every minute of every day doing things that make "ME" happy.  So this morning I had the urge to share a few recent mood boards.  These boards kinda sorta lit a spark under me that I hadn't felt in a while and it feels good to share them. They are two super fun, very similar, beach themed rooms.  We went with all Pottery Barn Teen products because both of my clients really enjoy their style.

As you can tell, I was loving navy blues, teals, and hot pinks in the beginning of the summer.  They are so fun and vibrant.  Maybe I'll be back soon with some more of my thoughts and inspirations about design considering I am not taking any physical jobs right now and won't have any work to share with  you.  I AM taking online clients so please feel free to email or click here to read more about my design services. Happy Saturday!!!

A Nursery for Two Baby Girls

I just finished some work for an "online" client who is about to have another baby girl only 13 months apart from her first daughter.  Sooooo that means she will need to house two baby girls in one room.    She asked for a tailored look with some punches of color.   Here is what I chose for her...

The fabric for the sheet set is what I found first and I built the entire room around that GORGEOUS print.  It is so fun and whimsical for a nursery = SO PRESH!

Here is what the nursery looks like now. It has great bones and a couple solid pieces that she can keep in the space.  I suggested swapping out the hardware on the changing table to spruce that up and save some money.  This room will look 100% better with just a little color on the walls to really make the furniture pop. I can't wait to see it transform.

I'll be sure to check back in when she emails me with the finished product.  If you are about to transform a space in your house and you have no idea where to begin, email me at shushinyourhome@gmail.com and I will be sure to get you started with an awesome design plan.  Click here to find out about pricing.

Have a great Sunday!
